Investing in the Future of Wyoming’s Transportation Industry


About the Scholarship

The Wyoming Trucking Association (WTA) is proud to support Wyoming students pursuing careers connected to the highway transportation industry. Scholarships are awarded each year through the WTA Scholarship Fund, memorial scholarships, and contributions from member companies. Awards are paid directly to educational institutions for student use.


Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be a graduate of a Wyoming high school

  • Plan to attend an approved Wyoming university, community college, or trade school

Pursue a field of study that leads to a career in transportation, including:

    • Business Administration
    • Transportation Management
    • Risk Management
    • Accounting
    • Occupational Health & Safety
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Information Technology/Information Systems
    • Diesel Mechanics
    • Truck Driving

Application Requirements

To apply, students must provide:

  • Personal Information (contact details, school, parents’ information)

  • Academic Records (GPA, transcripts, test scores if available)

  • One-Page Essay: “How is the trucking industry important to you and the State of Wyoming?”

  • Activities & Work Experience summary

  • Future Plans Statement (career goals and objectives)

  • Financial Need Statement

  • References/Letters of Recommendation


Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated on:

  • Academic achievement

  • Essay content and career goals

  • Community involvement and work experience

  • Financial need

  • Character references

Applications due: February 6, 2026
